More Parachute goodness!

G'morning all!

How are you today? I am currently still in my pyjamas, debating which project to keep working on (I start many things and leave them unfinished, so that when I come back I am re-inspired).

Talking of inspiration - notice the 'hello, friend' button to your right? -->
This is where I get a lot of my inspiration from. Danni's blog is amazing.
Click on it. I dare you.

But first, I will share with you a few more photos of what I have been working on (with help from Brittany and my mummy!)...
This is my current work-space - set up in my brother's room now that he has moved out. Don't you just love the desk?! It was my grandparents, and I was always in awe of it as a child.
More work-space... I am going to be selling some of those pin-boards you can see in the background!
Lifeless owls in-the-making. To grasp an idea of the final size/shape/look of the owls, see below picture.
Britt put the owls into this egg carton... "They look like they are in their own forest!" was one uttering we spoke. They look so cute in this!!
Anyone guess what I am working on here??
Yay Brittany! She is a star, and even though she wasn't feeling 100% she offered a helping hand :)
Britt's hard work! These will be paper flags - I am going to use other types of paper also mixed in.
And this is the trial zip-up purse I made - it has a few faults and issues which I need to deal with before I can make another.
Last night I chatted to Larissa for ages on the phone, and we were talking about the day of departure and at the airport etc... man that girl knows how to freak me out! I'm so not looking forward to when they call me through to the departure lounge, and I have to say my final good-byes.
I am so not wearing any eye make-up for that.

Oh - if anyone wants to buy anything that you see (despite the fact everything is in bits and pieces currently), flick me an email, or leave a comment, and I might be able to give you a discount... :)

Sustainable City Showcase Pt. 2

Here are the rest of the photos from the showcase that we (AUT textile + fashion students) participated in:

Vanessa added to our collection with some of her own garments - she constructed them all in one weekend = legend!
Vanessa's dress: She constructed this out of a printed fabric that she designed. If anyone is interested in her garments, you can go here.

Mel's children's bedding samples (with Carol's behind)

Carol's screen- + digital printed swatches

My workspace (With coffee-bean-sack-bag in progress)

This is the mock up bag I created (all hand-stitched!)

Close up of the hand stitching... was a pretty rough attempt, but then again it was a mock up!

Info Poster for our area

In action! From left: Rachel, Rachel, Kahli, Carol (with Diana behind her)

Rachel's work with our products

Sitka's display

I cannot remember the name of this business, but what is amazing about them is that they use all natural dyes for their fabrics i.e. using beetroot, tea, coffee etc.

The mock up bag again.

On the inspiration buzz now!

So have just been browsing some of the blogs I follow, and I have come across a few images that really get my all excited and anxious to be creative and such...

These photographs below I came across on I Go By Katie's gorgeous blog, featuring photographer Sarah Maingot and this amazing country-inspired photo shoot.
Don't you just love these cute little packages?! These are perfect for things like wedding favours, children's party bags, etc. Find the tutorial here.
Now this design, it makes me want to pick up a paintbrush and paint everything within sight with lovely cool and warm tones together. It just brings so much life to this fabric! This blog creator is using this textile for some drapes...
Aaaand... the cutest thing I found this morning is this adorable embroidered portrait. Isn't it just gorgeous?! You Are My Fave features the artist Michelle Rigg on her blog.
So pretty much I am now in a jittery state of complete inspiration, and I am just super needing to release it in some creative way!! Maybe I should actually use it for my uni work.... that would be the logical option.

Geometriiiic!

Feeling super excited and inspired right now for my screen-printing assignment again, this time it is a more developed and matured inspiration - I have managed to whittle down my ideas and where I am getting them from for my baby eyesight-development prints: Architecture, and paper-folding.

Check out these images :) They all include very geometrical designs and make me all fidgety, just because I can't wait to come up with some concepts soon!

This first image is taken in our flat's bathroom (it is the detailing on one of the windows):

Super pumped that I now have my buzz back!
