A beautiful gift.

On Friday night, mum's friend Donna gave me this beautiful necklace!
And what is so special about it you might ask?
The designs on either side are my own that were submitted to Charles Parsons! (My two favourites).

I was so excited when I opened this!!

Today marks the one-week countdown ("Oh my gosh, is this even happening to me?!"), and my nerves are intense, my gut thinks it is an acrobat flipping every time I think about India, and my nights are restless.

But I am excited! I mean, I have been dreaming of India for so long, and it is finally going to become reality.

Dream Destination #4: Mölndal, Sweden

Tucked away in Sweden is this gorgeous industrial town, Mölndal. 'Möln' means 'mill', and 'dal' is Swedish for 'valley' - so it is the 'Valley of mills' - and in this case, water-mills.

What is amazing about it, is that it has a waterfall that just casually flows through the town of 40,000-60,000 people... it makes for some delightful photography.

So, how amazing is this place?!

Although it remains mostly an industrial town (i.e. it doesn't cater amazingly for tourists), I am still adding it to my bucket list.

On another note - I have discovered who has purchased my design from Charles Parsons! It is designer Veronica Maine, of CUE Design in Australia - her page is here.

I hope you all have such a glorious Christmas! I am heading to Auckland in the morning to see some friends, then back home Thursday, then a 7-8 hour trip to Wellington on Friday, with a 2.30am crossing on the Interislander on Saturday morning! There is going to be a lot of sitting on my behind in the next few days... may as well prepare for my 24hours of travel to Kolkata...

I have sold my first design!

I received some very exciting news on Friday! One of 5 of my printed-fabric designs Charles Parsons picked to sell, has been sold to an Australian designer!

This is all very exciting for me.

It is such a confirmation that I am studying in the right area. Sometimes it is nice to receive praise for something that you have done when you are not feeling entirely confident in your work.

I am in the process of trying to find out which designer has bought it, so that I can track their collections and see what and how they are using my creation.

It all seems quite surreal!

Charles Parsons Selection

So I am pleased to announce that for my Charles Parsons assignment, 5 out of these 6 designs were chosen to be shown to their clients to sell, and if they do, then I get a previously established sum for each in exchange for the rights to them. So I am very happy about this - if they sell it will be such an amazing help to my financial issues with moving to India next year to serve!

All designs are copyrighted.

My main theme through these prints is the inspiration from the patterns that feature on the wings of moths etc, like these:
